Title: Screenshots of your desktop...? POST EM.
Post by: haywire on December 16, 2009, 07:17:08 pm
Am I the only person curious as to what everyone else's desktop looks like?

Vector is very configurable, do you mod it alot of just run stock?

Post your screenshots here...

here's one of my latest :

Running dosbox and euae. Love the virtualization features. I'm playing way too many old dos games though. Here is ft2 running for music editing.
EUAE is an amiga os emulator...

Maybe for my next screenshot I'll run some actual linux programs. I've been stuck playing games in dos and amiga os for awhile now. :)

Here's mine. I didn't do any extensive customizing on mine. I very much liked the default wallpaper. I did add a "Quick Launch" button for Firefox though. One thing that I tried on a different VL computer was changing the kde taskbar to look like the Windows taskbar. (just to see what it would look like) I took screenshots of the Windows start button and taskbar and used those. The only part of it that didn't come out right was the kmenu button. I used the start button as the image for it but since the kmenu button is a small square, the start button image was kindof squished. It still looked neat though. BTW I think you'll have to actually "view the image" to see the whole thing.

Not much to show, but screenshots are a duty :)

I think it's either on the second CD or in the repository .. but try installing KBFX. With that set to use the classic menu, and just change to a button you'd prefer, should give you more accurately what is seen in the desktop theme selection's "preview image". I use pretty much the same look, only changing the wallpaper every so often.

Nice clean looks... I was wondering if mine was more modded than most.

I have a second box that is very stock but my main box is very customized for my needs...

I wish ;D. That guy is Juan Maldacena, by coincidence I was visiting his web site. He is an Argentinian physicist that works in the strings theory, an attempt to explain the whole universe with a few numbers :P. He has made a famous conjecture about how to solve the contradictions between gravity physics and particles physics.
I am from Buenos Aires, Argentina, BTW.

Mine is nothing fancy as well.

BTW, am I the only one who is bothered by the pcmanfm's "My Documents" desktop icon? I think it should say Home. There is no way to change it besides recompiling it with a little patch.
I could write the patch, if anyone's interested - it's nothing fancy, just changing my documents to home in a couple of text files.
