Post by: francois.e on January 07, 2012, 04:37:33 pm
I would like to proceed a nvidia 7150m graphic driver install. I found the following thread:
http://forum.vectorlinux.com/index.php?topic=8175.0

1) kernel version:
From gslapt:
2.6.38.3_smp-x86-1

From cli:
vector:/~
vl:$ uname -r
3.0.8
vector:/~
vl:$

2) Downloaded file:
file:///home/vl/vlnvidia-7.0-x86-1vl70.txz

from:
http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-7.0/kernels/drivers/

How do I install the package and get the driver to function?

As I am working from usb grub 0.98 install, I would accomodate myself working with a xzm module, and put it into the modules folder. Where can I find the utlity  to transfor tgz to xzm?

Thanks.
