Title: Vector Linux 7.0 Light RC1 released.
Post by: nightflier on February 22, 2012, 06:58:02 am
The Light version of VL 7.0 is now close to final.

Thanks to the input of our testers, the program selection has been tweaked. Brasero is replaced with flburn. The Medium install option now sports Openbox with PCManFM.

Known issue: The text installer is showing its age. You will see some warning messages flash by as you install. These are safe to ignore.

Website gives error 440 not found.

Installed VL-7.1-LIGHT-A0.1.iso.

Surprise, surprise both my USB connected printers were detected :D :D :D
and are even actually printing. ;)

That is a first in VL-7.1 long running development and does not really come
as a surprise. Before in VL-6 and may be VL5 it was the light version only
with which I was able to print.

Claws-mail still hangs.
