Title: File splitter, please?

Is there anyone out there who can recommend a program that can be used for splitting video files?

How do you mean splitting video's.  Do you mean splitting video from sound or simply slicing video into parts and editing out what you don't want.

If the later than openshot or kdenlive work nicely. kdenlive or lives have options to split sound from video, if I recall correctly.

You can use mencoder or avidemux to join/split video files
