Title: word editor for 64mb-ram
Post by: gianfy on October 03, 2014, 10:42:58 am
Hello, i've got an old laptot with Vector with IceWM... it's very poor (oviuosly) but i need only to write some documents... but i have a big problem..
There are only abs (similar to excel) and ePDFviewer... but there isn't any word editor similar to word...

For 3 hours i try to look for some packages (ready to install) to install at least one word editor.. but  ??? i can't look for any packages ready to install.
Someone, could link to me at least one link to download a .txz?  (abiword or similar)

PS: i haven't got internet connection so i must move file with a key to laptot.
PS2: laptot has only 64mb-ram

Thank you.

In your other post you mention VL7.0 Light, so that's what I'll assume.

Abiword is found in this repository:
http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-7.0/packages/
direct link:
http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-7.0/packages/xap/abiword-2.8.6-i686-2vl70.txz

After installing it, run command "abiword" in a terminal and see if it runs.
If not, you might need additional packages, like goffice. Here is the list of requirements:
aiksaurus
aspell
boost
enchant
fribidi
glib2
goffice
gtk+2
gtkmathview
gucharmap
libpng
libsoup
libwpd
libwpg
libwmf
link-grammar
loudmouth
ots
tidy
wv
