Title: Suggestion for future Vector Linux versions.
Post by: Locator on May 05, 2016, 10:06:41 pm
If possible, please try to make any future Vector Linux versions 'backwards compatible'. For example, Vector Linux 7.0 comes with a handy packaging program called "vpackager", which can, in certain cases, make it a LOT easier for compiling and installing Slackware versions of programs.

That is not possible. Vector is not completely Slackware compatible. In fact as each change
appears it will be farther from Slackware. The changes are being designed for a long
term solution and primarily for Vector.
