Hi all,
How to force quit a misbehaving application in VL 5.8 standard ? I was working with Ubuntu & Fedora for the past few years. There was an application to force quit a misbehaving or non responding application - please help.
Thanks !

ctrl+alt+esc
Pressing those keys will change your mouse pointer to a skull and crossbones. Click that messed up window with that skull and crossbones and it will instantly close the app.
DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING ELSE! It WILL close that app. To include your desktop, taskbar, or anything else.

This is a very old thread, many years and software versions ago. Still, the basic info applies. The program you want is "xkill". If key combination Alt-F2 brings up a run box, type xkill and run it. You can also open a terminal and run it from there.
