hi,

i use vl 5.8 with kde 3.5.7

is there a howto available to add an extra entry in the kontextmenue of kde.

i have in mind to attach files to email via kontextmenue (attach to mail...)

my mailclient is thunderbird

i tried other hoetos..but they didnt work...
maybe someone has had already done on his box.
so any advise is welcome

close..the howto in the previous message worked with the native tb in vl.

but i have ialready installed a german thunderbird on some boxes.(a tarball from sources)
so in general...the text is correct in the servicemenue.

if i click it..a errormessage appears "could not find thunderbird"
no wonder..its not in my PATH

thunderbird resides on my box in /opt/thunderbird/..and in this directory is my thunderbird-executable

below is my PATH:
 didi:$ echo $PATH
/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/opt/bin:/usr/local/games:/usr/lib/java/bin:/usr/lib/java/jre/bin:/opt/kde/bin:/usr/lib/qt/bin:.

so there is no /opt/thunderbird path there

what would be the best way to show the system my thunderbird-executable?

in .bashrc....export (dont know the exact syntax)
or a ln -s (but from where to ??)

need advise for this minor issue

thanks in advance for your time..

this is the file to place under /opt/kde/apps/konqueror/servicemenues...

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
ServiceTypes=all/allfiles
Actions=mail_as_attachment

[Desktop Action mail_as_attachment]
Name=Mail as Thunderbird Attachment...
Name[de]=Verschicken als Anhang...
Icon=/usr/share/thunderbird/icons/mozicon16.xpm
Exec=thunderbird -compose `echo attachment=\'file://%F\' | sed 's/ \//,file:\/\/\//g'`

maybe its easier to modify this script above..alas i have no clue how to do it :-(

regards günter
