Title: Hans Reiser to reveal location of Nina's body
Post by: tomh38 on June 09, 2008, 06:24:23 am
Have a look at this:

http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/2008/06/hans-reiser-off.html (http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/2008/06/hans-reiser-off.html)

I actually thought he might be innocent.

EDIT:  I took a second look at the article and realized that not only is this not finalized, but also that there's no solid information that Hans actually knows where Nina's body is.  The most concrete thing seems to be that there are "ongoing discussions."

Perhaps she's hidden in the filesystem somewhere ... ;-)

Great, I hate to think I've been writing all over her bits.
Now I feel like a sick #@!% for even joking about it.

Well, now that others have done it ...

Maybe this means Richard Stallman will finally tell us where the HURD kernel is.

I sure am glad I use reiserfs on all my Linux partitions. And to think I might have installed ext3, which has no blood on its hands, for the extra 'chattr' features.

A little black humour never hurt anyone!

It is a mystery no more.

Body identified as convicted programmer's wife (http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/07/08/missing.mother.ap/index.html?iref=mpstoryview)

I wonder if he recorded the location of the body in his journal.

Seems by now the location has been revealed and the body retreived

Um ... journal, y'know ... cuz of the type of file system he wrote. Oh, dagnabit.

If you have to explain it, you either told it wrong or it wasn't funny.  In this case, probably both.

I wonder if he recorded the location of the body in his journal.

He he he... :D

Perhaps now we'll get a final ReiserFS v4.0 as Hans will now have a lot of time on his hands to finish things off ....

If he can only get a box in jail to write code in...

But I doubt the citizens' tax dollars will be spent that way

He doesn't really need a computer to do research

It would help obviously. I think in his case, he might be allowed to have one as long as it isn't Internet-connected

His reiserfs mailing list will require a ton of stamps then!  ;)

This one's for you, exeterdad:  http://instantrimshot.com/ (http://instantrimshot.com/)

Q:  What's the difference between the HURD kernel and Nina Reiser?

A:  One's a rotting corpse, and the other is the murdered wife of a software engineer.

Too soon?

That's a riot.  I was trying to figure out how to put that same sound to text when you made your "journal" crack. :D

He probably doesn't need to see everything on it, just some important summaries, status updates and questions

Also, we are all terrible people who are going to burn for this.

Yet still, I laugh.

Oh, man. . . such a shame for the reiserfs, it's such a _killer_ file system!

Get it? Ki. . . Nevermind. . .

gacl:  I like it.  Similar to this one:

Q:  Why is ReiserFS better than other filesystems?

A:  Killer performance!
