Title: error loading operating system
Post by: kpeecee on November 16, 2008, 03:49:02 am
I have just downloaded the Vector linux os for my old thinkpad 600e laptop and the download, burn and install was trouble free.
Then came the time to reboot, took the cd out and hoping to see it boot up and i got the error message in the subject line.
I am new to this forum and linux and was at the point of throwing this laptop out until i discovered linux.
So heres hoping somebody has had the same problem and cross fingers it is easy to sort. Thanks

What version of VL did you install?
What error message did you get?
Also, did you use the install option to "check the installation files"?

Welcome to VL!

it comes from your bios. it is usually caused by no bootloader.
Did you install lilo?
