HP Mini - A Success Story.....
« on: July 23, 2009, 03:54:57 pm »
Just have to comment again on how incredibly well Vector 6.0 installs and functions on my HP Mini (Intel Atom Processor, 1gb RAM, 16gb SSD, no swap). Installation went without an issue and everything works just fine - including the web cam.....

Now to research how to suspend to a file (since I elected to dispense with swap due to the SSD) and everything will be perfect.....!

Thank you.....!

Interesting, I have an Acer Aspire One, 8GB SSD and 512 MB Ram - it runs a modified version of Fedora 8.  I don't have access to wireless at the moment so reluctant to replace it with Vector just yet, though interested if others have had experience of doing that?  If so what pitfalls?  Perhaps we should spin this off and we can have some feedback on each model of netbook?

Nice to hear you are liking Vector in that cool HP, Dave.

Lyn: There is a thread about the AAO, I think the story ends pretty well :)

we can have some feedback on each model of netbook?

Great idea Lyn, don't know how you would arrange it though.... Maybe a separate thread for each model under "Portable VL".

Re Wireless: My daughter loves her VL 6.0 Std eeePC 1000H, but I still haven't got wireless running. Haven't had a good look at it yet, can't access the machine often, but apparently the Atheros chipset is a problem. Anyway that's her only complaint.
