How to resize a NTFS partition to install 6.0 Light?
« on: August 02, 2009, 08:37:18 am »

I picked up a Lenovo R60e to play with and I would really like to get 6.0 Light on it. The Win XP partition is NTFS and I don't know how to resize one of those pups. Is it possible? If so...how?

Something that belongs in every geek's toolbox:

http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php

The VL5.9 Light Live CD also has gparted on it.

The VL6 install CD has gparted built into the GUI installer. That should allow you to resize the NTFS partition.
Nightflier is right though one really needs to have gparted on a live CD ready to use. Partedmagic also has clonezilla on it which can be very useful at times (along with the many other utilities that it includes).

The Live CD did the trick.

Thanks
