Firefox doesn't work.
« on: August 22, 2009, 03:45:54 pm »

For some reason, Firefox doesn't work unless I'm on my root account. When I try to run it on my other account it says "Firefox is already running... etc."

I opened up lxtask, but firefox-bin wasn't there. I tried the XFCE taskmanager, logging in as root and then opening the task manager, but it appeared as if Firefox wasn't running.

So I restarted my computer, making sure not to save my session for future logins... I tried to open Firefox again and the same thing happened. I reinstalled it through Gslapt, still didn't work.  ??? I installed a different version... restarted again.  ???

But it just won't work on my account. I'm out of ideas, has anyone else had a similar problem?

I don't know if this will help, but it's worth trying.

With Firefox not running, rename your ~/.mozilla directory to ~/.mozilla_old. Then start Firefox as usual from the menu. The ~/.mozilla directory should be rebuilt to default settings. Let us know if this helps.
