Posting from dillo 2.1.1
I've packaged 2.1.1 and will upload it to my vectorcontrib directory.  I'm not sure when it will hit
the repositories though.

Dillo is a good example of how when something is already in the repositories, you can use the existing SlackBuild to package for the new version.
Here is a screencast of how I did just that with Dillo.

As always, if I got anything wrong in the screencast just let me know.

It was a lot of hoop jumping for me, but was a success following the tutorial. I really like dillo. I hope they continue to add a few more features without bloating it up.  Smiley

This is a great tutorial unfortunately I ended up with:
.....
checking how to run the C preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: C preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check

which is actually the reason why I requested for this new package. Wink

I have installed many dillos even before I was with VL and never run into such a problem.
and I do not no how to go about it.

The end of the tutorial is View Agian. You might want to fix this to leave a lasting good impression.

I will bookmark the tutorial site.

I got my dillo-2.1.1. and opsting this with it. Installed in VL-Light-Live and copied the files over. Cheesy

Good thinking Smiley
Thanks for giving the tutorial a go, both of you.
This also works when you find something you like in 5.9 and want it in 6.0.  There is a little more script tweaking involved and just like a real build you have to make sure the dependencies are all there or build them.  I'ts just a little less work.
PS. I'll fix the end of the tut'
Thanks again.
