I quickly tested VL6.0-Light-LIVE-Final.iso and was mostly pleasantly surprised
by the choice of a light desktop manager as the default.

However, I noticed a couple of glitches.
The first time I was asked to do the x config I selected the nvidia driver option.
It didn't work out and I didn't pursue it, I just went back to the basic x config.

Later on I noticed that no wireless signals were detected by wicd and the
command 'ifconfig wlan0 up' returned some message that I forgot.
Then I realized that the firmware from my card (Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5100AGN)
wasn't installed. After copying the driver from an installed slackware partition
it worked ok.

Does anybody know how to remove the icons from the desktop in icewindow?
I like a clean desktop.

In the file manager (pcmanfm) click on Edit -> Preferences and in the Desktop tab uncheck "Manage the desktop and show file icons".

Oh and welcome to VL.

Thanks Chris
I just did this yesterday and it worked.
So it seems you can't just set the 'no show file icons on the desktop'.
You also lose the ability to manage the desktop for other settings
(background image, etc).

You can just delete the desktop icons, except the one for the file manager.

I suppose you can but I prefer the other solution and no icons
at all on my desktop
I managed to do that and have a different wallpaper
(by temporarily restoring 'manage desktop'), etc.
