Dear all,
I've attempted to install VL Light 6.0 on yet another old laptop (Acer Travelmate 212TXV) in order to turn it into a packaging system. Installation worked fine, I chose ReiserFS for root partition and installed everything but the office apps, Opera and Firefox. If I remember correctly (am at work now without being able to access the machine) I chose "standard" for the console display option. I cannot remember if I have actually prompted to set up the X server configurations...
So after install I booted and everything went according to plan until usually it would show the login screen - Which part of the system is responsible for the login screen btw? Gnome/IceWM? - at which point it simply showed a blank screen. No keyboard input possible...
Might this be because xorg.conf isn't configured correctly? In this case I guess
this thread provides a solution already... If you have any other ideas, please post them and I'll try them out tonight.
Promise to be more precise next time!
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: So if the blue login screen is actually the X GUI login screen, I take it that my problem is to do with xorg.conf configuration indeed. Will look into it tonight. Still, any other suggestions are welcome
