USB Booting Problem
« on: September 25, 2009, 07:25:06 pm »

I tried to make a bootable USB drive, however, it will not boot from it.

I have a second-hand asus motherboard and therefore no manual.

In the BIOS Boot Option I find under Removable Device: USB FDD and USB ZIP.
If I set either one of them to boot from I get on booting the following error:

BIOS update data incorrect CPUID=00000F29

How to go about?

Thanks & regards

Could the BIOS have been updated incorrectly or updated with some corrupted data? If so, you'll probably have to update the BIOS again.

Which model is your motherboard? If it's second hand i could have some problems i guess, but it's probably just a borked upgrade. Or maybe the USB-boot function is locked.

Hmm... It called it USB ZIP? I wonder what the ZIP part means. (Just a wild guess here.) A USB ZIP drive maybe?
