Maybe someone could please help me with how to get the speakers working? SOLVED!

Hi, everything works fine, but the speakers.  The green light on the speakers is on, but no sound comes out when I play movies. Is there some way I can figure out what the problem is and how to fix it? Is there a diagnostic program or something? SOLVED - THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME

try type alsamixer in console..........
did VL recognize your soundcard?

Have you used the sound setup in VASMCC? I think that's the problem. Go into VASMCC through the system menu choose hardware and then sound. VL should recognise your soundcard.

Did you try to increase the volume using alsamixer?

Yes, thank you, I cranked all the graphs in the alsamixer up as high as they would go.
That didn't  have any effect.
Please tell me what how I can find the ispci and ismod so I can post it?

Is this a laptop or PC? If you are using an external speaker, maybe you can try double check is the speck correctly plug in? hahaha....just a try

It's a pc and yes it's plugged in the lights on, but no sound coming out.

Hve you run the sound config in vasmcc? Be sure to pick the correct soundcard, that should hopefully do the trick.

Oh golly. I had it plugged into the blue hole at the back of the tower and I tried it in the green hole and it works fine now. Don't I feel stupid.
