[SOLVED] brlcad and emacs
« on: October 07, 2009, 05:12:42 am »
I tried to install brlcad from the multimedia solutions disk (using Gslapt) and got the message Excluding brlcad due to a dependency failure  brlcad: Depends: emacs>=21.4.a-i486-6

I installed emacs 21.4a and I still get the same message.  Is there any way I can make Gslapt "see" the emacs folder?

Try installing from command line, as root:
slapt-get --install --no-dep /path/to/brlcad_package

Thanks nightflier.  That seems to have worked but now I can't find an executable.  I wonder if I know have to do the old configure-make-install now.  The brlcad folder in /usr looks suspiciously like the raw materials for doing a compile.

Ignore that last post.  I'm supposed to invoke mged to get the solid modeler.  Many thanks again.
