I wonder if which driver is the best choice; Radeon, ATI or Vesa? Or is there no difference? Anyway, I'm going to try putting google earth back on and see if it works now.
I would start with the flgrx propriatory driver first. This should be the best choice.
The others are different opensource version of graphic drivers. Vesa being the most generic of them. Really you would only use Vesa if nothing else worked.
I'm using ATI on one of my machines. Someday you may find that ATI/AMD has an upgrade for your driver, I'll see if I can make you a tutorial to show how you can get the latest drivers from ATI's site and install the upgraded drivers.
For now here is one I made for upgrading the NVIDEA driver. The process is very much the same with ATI.
