Language/Keyboard Setting?
« on: October 09, 2009, 05:01:46 pm »
My default language is US. But I want to write a letter in japanese and arabic writing. How do I change the keyboard settings to the language I want?
There is language-bar in winXP , to determine the choice of language. Is there anything similar in VectorLinux?
(I'm using VL-std 6.0)

Help me please...

Hi

You'll need to use Vasmcc to change your keyboard layout. It's under Hardware and Xwindow. Not sure if that will get you arabic or japanese writing though. You might have to chang the font.

thanks Bjørnar,
I've tried to type in Arabic, and succeeded. For the Japanese language I have not tried.
But is there a faster way than by using vasmcc?
Is there a shortcut like alt+shift in windblows-xp? Or, can I create an icon on the desktop to change the language?
thank you very much
