/dev USB [SOLVED]

How do I know which is the / dev that corresponds to the USB ports? ???

Depending on which mounter you use, either hal or vl-hot, udev or hal will assign device names to your devices.

try

tail -f /var/log/messages then plug your device in. or unplug it

no use hal or vl-hot, because boot for linux light install and exit shell.  Need mount usb.  Command sginfo -l no work

I thought vl-hot still works in cli mode.

/var/log/messages should still show you how the device is picked up

If this is a usb flash drive, you can use "probedisk" as root to find the block device and mount it manually.
