VL-Lite Problem: No libphp5 after upgrade PHP from 5.2.5 to 5.2.8/9

Here is my problem:

When I upgrade PHP from the 5.2.5-i486-1 package to the 5.2.8/9-i586-1vl60 package, Apache will no longer turn on, with the following message:

httpd: Syntax error on line 477 of /etc/httpd/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line 6 of /etc/httpd/mod_php.conf: Cannot load /usr/lib/httpd/modules/libphp5.so into server: /usr/lib/httpd/modules/libphp5.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

When I check the /usr/lib/httpd/modules directory, I cannot find the lib file.  When I do a "find | grep libphp", I get nothing on my system.

Where is libphp5.so?

What additional information do I need to provide to debug this problem?

PS:  I am using VL-Lite 6.0 on a AMD-K7 600MHz processor with 768MB of RAM if that matters.

You can try using locate.

The locate database may need to be updated.

As root use updatedb, wait until that completes and
then try locate libphp5.so

This is what I did:

locate -u
updatedb
locate -r libphp
locate libphp

Nothing came up with the last two commands.

This package looks like it may be badly packaged, and require repackaging. I cannot locate the php lib file anywhere in the package itself, as though it was unintentionally omitted. Let's see if we can get the packager to take another look at this and determine it's integrity. In the meantime, can you downgrade to the previous php version via gslapt?

Hi,
I can report the same problem with VL 6.
I've installed apache package (2.2. and then the pesky PHP but then I deinstalled it to install the 5.2.5 for the first time.
Sadly there still seems to be a problem with, perhaps, the apache itself. A phpinfo.php file, containing a phpinfo (); line, is "served" by the apache but there is no output, the page is blank, yet the source contains the

Can anyone confirm this situation for me please?

There is  only one apache package for VL6 available and I'm prepared to deinstall it and install apache from source other than the 2.2.8 but my general linux clumsiness could make a protracted struggle out of this process if there is some hidden problem. Perhaps anybody knows for sure which version to avoid etc.
