I have bee switching and devices around. cruzer mini shows up in both 59light and 60lightlive and 6.0 Light Final w/ no problem. Linksys WUSB54GS shows up in 59light and 60lightlive, but not 6.0 Light Final.
I followed your suggestiion and found that the Linksys WUSB54G was causing the 6.0 Light Final xterm window to freeze. I tried a Dell 1450 USB ataptor that works w/ the VL6.0 Light Final lsusb command to produce the output below.
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0781:5150 SanDisk Corp. SDCZ2 Cruzer Mini Flash Drive (thin)
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 413c:8104 Dell Computer Corp. Wireless 1450 Dual-band (802.11a/b/g) USB2.0 Adapter
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
The Dell installation disk contains drivers for RedHat Linux 9.0 running kernel version 2.4.20-8 and RedHat Enterprise Linux WS3 running kernel version 2.4.21-4.
I should probably mark this topic solved & start a new one for the Dell adaptor, but before I do that, I will ask one question.
Do you know if the RedHat drivers will work w/ VL6.0 Light Final? The driver files are:
rpm -i Prism-modules-2.4.20-8.dkms1.0.7.i686.rpm for RedHat Linux 9.0 or
rpm -i Prism-modules-2.4.21-4.EL.dkms1.0.7.i686.rpm for RedHat Enterprise Linux.
The Linux installation instructions w/ the Dell CD are provided below:
Verify if you have DKMS 1.10 or newer installed by typing dkms -v.
If needed, download the latest version of DKMS from http://linux.dell.com/dkms
and install it.
From the root account execute the following command:
rpm -i Prism-modules-2.4.20-8.dkms1.0.7.i686.rpm if you are running RedHat Linux 9.0 or
rpm -i Prism-modules-2.4.21-4.EL.dkms1.0.7.i686.rpm if you are running RedHat Enterprise Linux.
Verify the status of the installation by executing the dkms status command. The output of the command should be Prism, 1.0.7, 2.4.20-8: installed
Thanks for your help!
