Are there any packages available for VL that will open 7-zip files? Xarchiver will do it if you can find the p7zip plugin for it. I know this because I tried to open a 7-zip file under various distros and also done some research. I ended up using PCLinuxOS with Xarchiver, but I had to use their Synaptic Packager to download p7zip before it would open. Also ran across a program called PeaZip. I hate to use any other distro than VL (its fast!!) so I would like to be able to open the occasional 7-zip files that I download. Thanks!

Somehow, I managed to answer this question, but on the wrong thread.  Undecided Must remember to get proper amount of sleep. Smiley
I'll post it here now, and tidy up the other thread...(kobo deluxe guestion)

p7zip is in the repositories. You will need to have the testing branch enabled.  I've heard mixed reports on the p7zip in the repository, depending on what it is being used for.
You can install this from connie.slackware.com...

If you want to build it your self you can download the sourcefiles at sourceforge.net.

If you watch this tutorial you can see the steps to building p7zip.  Just skip to the part after unetbootin is first downloaded.

IIRC, the p7zip package in the repo was missing the executables or something. Never read about a fixed package, though I may have missed it. IIRC, I installed from a binary p7zip tarball on their site which has an installer script.
