I think kernel support has improved for broadcom chips.
You might try installing new kernel and kernel modules.
installpkg ftp://ftp-osl.osuosl.org/pub/vectorlinux/veclinux-6.0/kernels/kernel-modules-220.127.116.11-i686-1vl60.tlzRun that in a terminal as root.
Most likely, you're using lilo for bootloader, so you'll need to execute
vliloconf as root and just follow the prompts.
Reboot after that and choode your new new kernel at boot time. See if that gives you wireless.
