You may skip the "yaourt -S broadcom-wl" step if you installed the package Uelsk8s suggested.

When I get to modeprobe wl it says module not found.  I installed the driver Uelsk8s posted.

I just tried it-there was no output for the lsmod commands, then the modprobe had a module not found again.

make sure you're doing this as root of course.

This is a hard one. Especially when I dont own any hardware like it. But just browsing around, I can see where several people have the same problem.

Aparently the ssb module conflicts with the wl module

try unloading the ssb module (rmmod ssb) and inserting wl (modprobe -v wl)

If that does not work for you, you may need to build the wl module yourself...
Only involves a couple of commands in a terminal window.

Please post what you get when you issue "modprbe -v wl"

I don't get that some distros support it out of box-Mandriva, opensuse 11 and PClinuxOS come to mind.  Here is the modprobe output:

Well, it's a hit and miss situation.

Try building the module yourself.... I'll give you a little mini-howto here

if the module is not found, then either the pkg is not installed or you have the wrong pkg for the running kernel.

the output of "uname -r" will tell you the kernel version.

Hi, there was no output when I did the modprobe -v wl.  But the card is still not recognized.  Here is another question:  When I click wireless, and it is probing for modules, should the progress bar move up?  It doesn't, it just sits there for probably 10 seconds and then asks me if I want to use ndiswrapper.
