Hello:

I read how to make this change from US mapping to UK using the command line... I just need to change my keyboard from US to Latinamerican.

Basically I need this letter:  ñ

Thanks

You can find how to do it in this thread: http://forum.vectorlinux.com/index.php?topic=10910

HTH,

Btw, Saludos desde Barcelona Smiley

EDIT:
well, obviously, if you just copy what's there, you'll end with italian keyboard layout Smiley . you should set "es" layout.

open your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file with the text editor of your choice as root, then find the part that looks more or less like this:

Code:
ection "InputDevice"
Identifier  "Keyboard0"
Driver      "kbd"
Option  "XkbLayout"  "it"   ## KEYBOARD_MAP!
Option  "XkbModel"  "pc105"    ## KEYBOARD_MODEL!
EndSection

And replace whatever says in the "XkbLayout" line to "es", like this:

Code:
ection "InputDevice"
Identifier  "Keyboard0"
Driver      "kbd"
Option  "XkbLayout"  "es"   ## KEYBOARD_MAP!
Option  "XkbModel"  "pc105"    ## KEYBOARD_MODEL!
EndSection
