When I open a Terminal I can't see the cursor and the resolution is wrong so it is difficult to read.

How can I fix this problem. I tried in preferences but the menu is a mess so I can't work.

Thanks,

select the "-cli" option at boot time and log in as root
run
Code:
vxconf
Try selecting the vesa and/or fbdev options and see if that gives you any better results.
IF that fails, run the xconf (probe) option
If that fails, post your video hardware specs here.
