Hi every one!

I have an issue with my VL light box installed on my Dell latitude ls laptop.
Ueagle-atm driver is already present in the kernel, so I have downloaded and installed from ueagle-atm site the firmwares that I copied to /lib/firmware folder as decribed on ueagle-atm site. Also created /etc/ppp/peers/ueagle-atm file (copied file and put it in created folder on VL light from my archlinux machine). I have created some entries in /etc/ppp/chap-secrets and pap-secrets for my Internet login and password.
When calling "pppd call ueagle-atm" everything seems to run fine. I can find some connexion infos on ppp0, ip adress and DNS servers logged in /var/log/messages, but there is no Internet access. I can't ping yahoo by name or ip (even when "ping -c 5 68.180.206.184" all packets are lost).

I am bit disapointed because the same CT350 USB modem was working fine with same ueagle-atm driver on this laptop with a previous version of VL (5.8 if I remember well).

Here is my configuration and routing infos since I think that could be a routing problem. Any idea or help will be appreciated. (Of course I have tried to connect disabling the firewall).

I change true ip and DNS by XX.XX.XX for anonymity.

Pls provide your lsusb....

Hello

Yes, I try to connect directly through USB. Here is my lsusb result :

Quote
root:# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 1110:900f Analog Devices Canada, Ltd (Allied Telesyn) AT-AR215 DSL Modem
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

Note that when I connect through eth0 and proxy on my other computer, I can access to Internet. The problem is when I try to use ppp0 and USB modem directly on the laptop.

It's just like LS light couldn't see the active connection on ppp0.

Solution was the default gateway. For those who want to use USB modems, be careful to don't set a gateway when installing VL.

Quote
route del default gw 192.168.0.1
+ disabling firewall have solved my problem.

..or, to keep firewall working, modify in /etc/rc.d/rc.firewall
INET_IFACE="ppp0"
