nightflier has built a new Obmixer package for VectorLinux 6.0.

Code:
obmixer: OBmixer is a GTK mixer applet that runs in the system tray.
obmixer: It looks a lot like gnome's mixer applet.
obmixer: It has been tested an found to work well with the following software:
obmixer: LXDE, Openbox (with desktop margin set "obconf"), tint2, icewm,
obmixer: gnome, fbpanel
obmixer: Packaged by nightflier for VL6.0.
obmixer: Original source changed to use aumix instead of alsamixergui.
obmixer: License: GPL
obmixer: Authors: lee lee
obmixer: Website: http://jpegserv.com/linux/obmixer/

After testing this package please stop back here and let us know how it works for you.

To use it with IceWM in VL 6.0 Light, add these files to ~/.icewm/startup:

Code:
sleep 3
obmixer &

Appears to  be working just fine.  I added the stuff to auto start and the icon to the toolbar as advised by Grannygeek in a different post.  Thanks.  I'm still trying to figure some of the icewm out but, going fine and the mixer is working just fine.  Thanks for bring it to the repos....

It's almost a dream come true - sound mixer applet in icewm Cheesy

It took a little experimenting to figure it out(for some strange reason i had an empty terminal window loading together with obmixer).
I am not actually sure what fixed it, I only know that I changet a && to & in my startup script that I was using to start wbar(sleep 3s && vlbar & changed to sleep 3s \new line\ vlbar &).

IceWM has extensive documentation and the configuration files are generally well commented. IceWM is very customizable, though it's often a bit difficult to figure out how to do it without documentation.

A good place to look is the FAQs for IceWM, which you can find here:
 http://www.icewm.org/FAQ/IceWM-FAQ.html

The manual is here:
 http://www.icewm.org/manual/

These are in HTML. Unfortunately, I haven't found either the FAQs or the manual to be available in one downloadable file. If you save the first page for the above URLs, you don't get the linked pages, which is not very helpful.

Bookmarked.
I will certainly take a look at that, since I just love icewm(it's the main reason why I use vl light).

Thank you, GrannyGeek. Smiley

IceWM docs (html and others) are in the sources. http://sourceforge.net/projects/icewm/files/   select "view all files" and grab the tarball for your version (icewm -v).

I've found several VL 6 packages that don't come with documentation that's included in the sources. If it's for size, I understand; larger packages wouldn't break very many installs, but those whose it does break don't have a lot of choices. Still, it's a cumbersome way to get docs.
