I just installed VL 6.0 Light, I think this is a really nice distro.

I am coming from Ubuntu, so you'll know where my head is at in this question.

How will I know that there are updates for the various applications installed in VL?  In Ubuntu, a message comes over the internet to my computer that starts an update manager that notifies me that there are updates available that I should consider installing.  Does VL work the same way, or do I need to be looking - where? - for when updates are available?

Thanks.

Sorry for the duplication of answer in your other question..

Light is "all manual". You can upgrade packages using gslapt after hitting the "Update" button and searching for the packages in question. I would caution against using "Mark All Upgrades" without reviewing the list of packages, as it some times installs a lot more than you think you asked for.

Checking in on the forum on a regular basis is a good way of staying abreast of package updates.
