I don't have Open Office, because it's too heavy for my computer and it is being said that Abiword (which I haven't installed either) doesn't handle docx files. (I do my writing with Latex ->.RTF/PDF)
Antiword is a great tool for viewing MS .doc files if you're only interested in the text. Unfortunatly it doesn't work for .docx files. Googleling(?) the problem returned little useful results for a simple docx reader.
Is there actually a tool like Antiword for docx files?
In the mean time, doing some "apropos xml" pointed me to a program called 'xmllint'. This is what I did:
$ unzip document.docx /word/document.xml
$ xmllint ---html ---htmlout document.xml > document.html
And now I can view the file in Dillo. But this is crude.
There must be an easier and more elegant way. So is there? Or even better, is there a simple tool, like Antiword?
