After you get everything the way you want it, is there a way to make an ISO for installing on other machines?

This package works well in VL 6.0: http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/Uelsk8s/vl-live-tools-1.0.7-i586-1vl59.tlz

After you install it, you will find some new icons. The one called "vmklive" will make an ISO which is a live version of your installed system. Burn it to a disc and you can run it Live, or install back to the hard disk.

Interesting !

I suppose it will be necessary to burn to DVD since I have added Danish language support, OpenOffice and some other programs to my VL 6.0 KDE Classic installation. Is there a way measure the size of the iso before burning?

I have not experimented with DVD's for this purpose. The ISO is created on your hard disk, so you can inspect it before doing anything else. I'd be interested in hearing if a DVD image works for you.

DVD images work very well via K3b. In fact, when I downloaded the two ISOs for SOHO 6 beta 4.2, I found I didn't have any CDs left, but I have a big spindle of DVDs. So I just told K3b to burn the ISOs to a DVD instead.
