As some of you know, I have been in the process of building a new home desktop system. Initially, the intention was to just upgrade the essential internal components, like the mobo, cpu. etc. BUT, alas, I was carried away with the "bug" and overhauled everything. One of the components I grieved over, was the Printer. It was no easy decision. Inkjet or Laser....model....linux driver compatability....and so forth and so on.
I went with a Samsung SCX 4500 that an online retailer had offered at a very alluring price. I hesitated a bit because it was a refurbished item, but with a 90 day warranty...what the heck.
this was a VERY pleasant surprise. No issues whatsoever with Linux or XP. I'm talking just plug in, add paper, and hit the print key. By far my best experience with printers. And the result was excellent crisp print output. I haven't tried the copy or scan functions yet, but all things in due time. Here's a picture for those of ypu interested....http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=SCX-4500-FB-R&cat=PRN
Well that's it for now....worthy of consideration for all my vector friends.
