Can't find driver rt1211b
« on: April 30, 2010, 05:31:33 am »
Hi,
I've followed the How-to and my adapter's ID number is 050d:705c, which when I Googled for the module gave me the rt1211b driver. I downloaded a tar file and extracted it to /lib/firmware, but I can't seem to get VL6 to recognize (or find) it.

Can someone walk me through this? My adapter is a Belkin F5D7050 USB version 4000. wicd recognizes my router, but I can't connect with WPA2 security.
Thanks in advance,

bigpaws

If WICD recognize your router then the adapter is working.

Did you set the key in WICD? In the properties box is where
you set that up.

Very strange.
I can see the "authentication" trying, but always ends up "not connected."
I know I'm using the correct WPA2 key (2 CAPs/2 digits/4 lower case), since it works for my laptop and TiVo...
The signal seems strong (88% or so).
I'll play around with the key when I get home this evening.
Thanks for the quick reply, Big Paws.
