Strange problem, I instert a cd-rom, and I try to use the panel tool to mount it, no go.

Any ideas?

Using vl standard 6.0 , xfce. I think this was working before, not sure what happened but seems to not mount now...

Try to mount it from the command line (as root) and look for error messages:
mount /dev/cdrom
