What's the difference between running wicd in Standard 6 and SOHO 6? There's a 10-20% difference in signal strength between the two "flavors", with SOHO getting the better percentages.

Can't say I've noticed a difference in signal strength, but I'm usually pretty close to the router. I have noticed that Wcid seems to react faster and place less load on the system with a more recent kernel than the one in VL 6.0 Standard. Don't know if that might explain what you're seeing.

Hmmmm. May install another instance of Standard and upgrade the kernel to see if there's an appreciable difference. I'm about 45 feet from the repeater, and another 30 feet from the repeater to the router.
