When VL is booting SOLVED!
« on: May 18, 2010, 07:49:06 am »

I have a dual boot XP and VL 5.8 SOHO since 2008 .
Yesterday , i found the VL 6.0 KDE Classic and installed it last night.
I love It !

I don't remeber how I did this, maybe someone can help.

When VL boots, it shows the splash screen. If you hit the ESC key,
it shows the processes loading in a box. On VL 5.8 SOHO,
I made the screen show the processes on a black screen with white text.
It was full screen size. I don't remember if it was a key combination or a
Control Center switch.
Once the change was made, the computer booted this way each time.

I would like to boot with the processes text
on a full black screen like 5.8  in VL 6.0 KDE Classic .

There must be a key combination to make the processes show full screen,
instead of in a box ?
 Anyone ?

In a terminal, as root, run command "vliloconf".
When it asks you about the framebuffer console, select "Use the standard Linux console (the safe choice)".

That was faster than the speed of light.
And it works, too ! Excellent.

(This time i had set the LILO screen to 1024x768 .
Not that it matters, but if anyone wanted to know.

Thank you very much.
