For the longest time I had a the end of an IDE ribbon and power connector hanging out of my box (all of the machines in my house have the side panel off except my wife's and the one the kids use) so that I could put an IDE drive on quickly. Now I have a few USB enclosures (both for IDE devices: 2.5" for laptop and 3.5" for the larger drives). Soon I'll have to get a eSATA enclosure...I had looked at the above NewEgg dongle but haven't decided how I want to proceed yet.
