default pdf viewer [solved]
« on: June 10, 2010, 06:53:10 am »
Vector 6.0 gold

How do I select which pdf viewer is used when I click on the icon for a pdf file in the file system?

I don't like xpdf, I have installed acroreader using gslapt, and removed xpdf using gslapt.

Now if I click on the icon for a pdf file in the filesystem, I get an error message "failed to execute child process xpdf".

Thanks

Find a PDF using Thunar. Right click on it, and select open with other application. You will then get a list of applications. Select acroread, and make sure the 'use as default for this type of file' box is ticked. From that point on, Thunar should use acroread to open pdfs when you double click them.
