Hi to all,
first i'm sorry for my bad english. I'm an italian Linux user. There is a method to upgrade from VL 5.9 to 6.0 without a fresh installation?

Thank you so much :-)

Sorry, as far as I know you will need a fresh installation.

I tried to do that, without installing LILO, as my machine has Xubuntu, Ubuntu and Mint inside. After installation, i edited GRUB 2 with this command :
Code:
update-grub
but while in the Grub Menu List there is a VectorLinux item, when i boot, this result in a kernel panic.

Whit VL 5.9 this issue don't happen.

Ciao :-)

Try adding rootdelay=10 to your boot line for VL in grub.cfg.

SOLVED!!!
I'm a donkey! It was sufficient to edit the GRUB 2 menu list, and some parameter, and now i write this post in my new Vectorlinux 6.0.
Thanks a lot.

I'm an Ubuntu user and in that world everything is too easier. But i want to use Vector by now.

Ciao :-)

Just keep in mind that any change you make to grub.cfg will be wiped out when you run any updates to grub. But it is a quick and painless solution to many minor issues.
