Stubborn Print System
« on: June 29, 2010, 10:11:04 pm »
I have 2 printers usb connected, one Epson and one Brother.

The epson is made the default printer, however, as user it is only the brother
printer that shows as default and will print and the epson refuses to be set as default.

$ lpq
Brother-DCP is ready
no entries

# lpq
Epson is ready
no entries

printers.conf shows as well that epson is the default.

In http://127.0.0.1:631/printers/ where epson is shown
as a default I can print a test page with epson.

If I stop and start cups again or reboot nothing will change,
user printer remains brother.

Whereis the hitch? ???

No takers. ;)

It is not so bad afterall. If I print as user I use the Brother printer and
if I will print with Epson I open the program to print with as sudo. Actually more
convenient than to change the default printer.
