On a new install of dillo an annoying pop-up window named "Choice 5" is
showing saying the following:

The remote certificate cannot be verified (code 20)

Continue      Cancel

Sometimes several on one website and one cannot continue browsing before
all are addressed to.

How can this pop-up window be cancelled out?

I get the popup on forum.vectorlinux.com, too.

It seems similar to #868 in the Dillo bug tracker. See
 http://www.dillo.org/cgi-bin/bugtrack/Dillo_query.cgi?what=se
No solution is suggested

I've upgraded firefox to 3.6.6 from the testing repo. Opening forum.vectorlinux.com with ff's error console gives "Security Error"s related to google ads. I notice all the banner ads load, but don't animate. I'll call it a "feature", as the "splunk" animation is really annoying and uninformative Tongue

Seriously, I'd bet your Dillo problem is the same issue or related. If much of open source is now considering these site's actions a security hole, the sites themselves may change if you wait. No idea whether you can bypass it, but an idea that you may not, in the end, wish to.

This pop-up has something to do with PayPal in case of the forum.vectorlinux.com
website. If I click on continue the PayPal Donate pops up if I cancel nothing shows.

If you're seeing the same thing I'm seeing, the Paypal Donate isn't a popup. It's what's on the page from the beginning but obscured by the security certificate popup.

I have to add that in my previous VL6 box which was based on the original
VL6-LIGHT the same dillo version-2.2 had no such security certificate popup
window. That version  I was running on the latest kernel 2.6.27.29.

Unfortunately I lost my VL6 box recently due to sudden death of the HD.
