toothandnail has built a new Freetype package for VectorLinux 6.0.

Code:
freetype: freetype (a portable font engine)
freetype:
freetype: Freetype is a free, high-quality, portable font engine
freetype: This build has the byte-code interpreter enabled, so it may have
freetype: patent issues.
freetype: A serious bug in the  CFF font module prevented  display of many
freetype: glyphs in CFF fonts like `MinionPro-Regular.otf' was fixed.
freetype: License: GPL
freetype: Authors: David Turner and others
freetype: Website: http://www.freetype.org

After testing this package please stop back here and let us know how it works for you.

Unable to use gslapt to install this. I get the following error message:
Code:
Failed to download freetype: MD5 checksum mismatch, overrided with --no-md5

Weird. Can't reproduce that here. I just manually downgraded to 2.4.0, then used Gslapt and have just installed 2.4.1 with it.

I wonder if you've got a corrupt copy of Gslapt or slapt-get?

Paul

Embarrassed Whoops. I'm glad there were no problems, but it means my build environemnt had got a bit messed up. Thanks for letting me know - maybe time to reinstall Light....

I finally figured out what the problem was which was of course on my end of the world. My proxy server's content filter didn't like the extra repo (Huh) or the md5sum for freetype (Huh). I don't know what caused this to now be an issue but I just allowed free access to vectorlinux.osuosl.org through the filter and that fixed this problem. (I'll post this in the other thread too.)
