updatedb as root will update the database so you can lookup using locate

Yes I really like the multiple text terminals. Its cool to keep midnight commander or some other text based file commander kinda thing in one of the screens, and other stuff if you like on others. If you use the same ones for the same things most of the time, you'll find yourself liking switching from the desktop gui to the text terminals. You can pop around fast and get alot of work done at once.
