Upgrading JRE

Hello,

     How would i go about upgrading the JRE? I downloaded the jre-6u17-linux-i586.bin file from java.com already but i want to know how to do this correctly to avoid any problems. Thanks.

I've updated a screencast on how I updated JRE on my Vectorlinux 6.0 Standard box.
I try to cover 3 different ways you could go about it.
