I must say I am totally blown away with VL 6 Light on my oldie (hp Vectra vei8 Pentium III 550Mhz, 512MB RAM, DVDROM, 20G/8.4G hdds, onboard Matrox video & Crystal sound). Have tried others (SUSE/Ubuntu/Xubuntu/SimplyMepis) but either they are too bloated for my oldie or simply won't install properly. VL went without a single hitch. Yeah!
Ok, I have a question on using a 2nd hdd. My plan is as follows & wondered if it make sense? Any input is appreciated for a newbie. BTW, I plan to setup these partitions using Gparted.
hda1 - boot - primary - linux - remaining space
hda2 - primary - swap - 512MB
hdb1 - primary - home - remaining space
hdb2 - primary - swap - 512MB
I read somewhere that having 2 swap partitions on different hdds may speed up things. Cheers.
