Well seems that Ubuntu users were not happy with the original final wallpaper. They made a new one... all of this information can be found here:
http://www.webupd8.org/2010/09/final-ubuntu-1010-default-wallpaper-is.html

Both the old final and the new final wallpaper are obviuosly found there.

I could not help myself with their new wallpaper, so I decided to help them fix it ... again.....

I hope they like it.........maybe I'll get a award or something..............Smiley

You really don't know? I can understand if you're not in the US or Canada. The big purple one in the middle is Barney, the friendly dinosaur main character from the PBS children's show of the same name. The target audience is about ages 3 to 5. The yellow character is BJ and the green one is Betty Bop.

I saw a hint of commentary on the target Ubuntu user in Masta's design.

Truly had now idea and I am not in the Americas and I do not watch TV, however, I love watching good cartoons for children again and again.
Will ask my wife if she knows those characters and may be find a DVD.  I will leave this world w/o ever having
owned or bought a TV set. I raised 3 children w/o a TV in the house, instead I enticed them to read books. If they wanted to watch something
they would go to the neighbor.

If you have never seen Barney, count your blessings. Do NOT obtain a DVD or you'll be doomed, forever.

Barney isn't a cartoon; it's a daily show for little kids and Barney and his friends are people wearing character costumes. I don't know if they ever show actual cartoons during the show. They do a lot of singing and movement.

The show is very gentle and lots of adults find it too sweet for their tastes. But little children usually love it. I wouldn't recommend getting a DVD unless you have preschoolers in mind.

Thanks for the info. So I will not look for a DVD. Was sick fo one week and my
DVD/CDR/W also got bust. Barely used, mainly for burning those VL test releases.
Put my old CDR/W back in.  Will watch Shreck-I on my wifes TV set. That should
bring back to better thoughts.

...but Shreck is for the new "MInt" wallpaper...(alll that green, you know).
(It will have a big picture of Shreck in the middle,.wearing a big goofy grin,...and wearing a green "superman" type of outfit.  In the middle of his chest will be the big "M" logo for Mint.   You know,...."veeeeeery big and super-friendly distro" kind of implication.)   Grin Grin Grin
