Try Install VL6SOHO on HP2133

I am trying to install VL6SOHO on HP 2133. I do not have a burned CD
for this version since my CD/RW broke so I try to install from the HD.
I have an external DVD/RW drive for the HP 2133 connected via USB.
When I use VL7 install disk I cannot get past the display testing.....stay tight.
It stays blank forever. If I use VL6 install disk neither the gui nor the tui installer
will find VL6SOHO.iso on the hard drive.

I tried to burn VL6SOHO.iso to the DVD drive with vburn in HP2133 and get errors only.

Can one burn a CD using such an external drive on HP2133 and how?

Is it be possible to use this DVD/RW on desktop PC and how?

The iso files were corrupted which possbly caused most of mentioned problems.
Was able to burn CD with the external DVD drive using k3b and that's when
I found that the files contained only garbage.

Will report again once I have new iso files for VL6SOHO.

The first generation(?) 2133 I have uses the 1ghz Via processor. I upgraded the RAM from 512mb to 1gb.

So far I have used VL6.0b2, VL6.0STD, VL6.0Light and VL6.0KDE Classic. Best results have been with 6.0b2 and 6.0Light but the 1ghz Via processor runs out of gas when streaming Internet video (YouTube, etc.).

The only distro I have tried so far that does small screen YouTube is a frugal install of Puppy 301 (based on Slackware 12.0). I have to use a USB wireless card and can't get WPA to work (only WEP so far). On the plus side, I have Puppy 301 installed (frugal) on the 8gb flash card that is plugged in to the card reader so it coexists nicely with my VL install. 

I am curious to hear your impressions of 6.0SOHO - unless you have a more robust processor in your 2133, I believe you will find that Light is a much better match.

The HP-2133 has 1 gb RAM. I can't install VL6SOHO since I have no burned
CD . VL install CDs do not pick-up the .iso file.

At present HP2133 is running very well with VL6-STD.

I can't burn a CD since the CD drive on my desktop PC is read only, however,
Santa has promised a R/W for X-Mas. Soon.

With HP2133 I have not been able to burn a CD on the external IBM DVD drive.

At present I am using, still experimental, VL6SOHO on my desktop PC. I am
much impressed and proably soon ready to make it my working box.
